Uniontown woman charged with endangering infant
A Uniontown woman is being held in the Fayette County Prison for allegedly endangering her 6-month-old daughter.
Uniontown police arrested Bridgette Durben, 38, of 186 N. Gallatin Ave. after being called to her home at 11:20 p.m. Friday and finding her passed out face down on her bed with the infant pinned beneath her.
Police were able to remove the infant from the bed. According to police, Fayette County Children and Youth Services took custody of the baby, Madelyn Hoff, and took her to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.
Durben regained consciousness, but police said she lost her balance and was slurring her speech. Police said Durben asked to see her baby, who she said was sleeping in a crib.
Durben had a preliminary arraignment Saturday morning before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino, who was the duty magistrate. A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros is scheduled for 9 a.m. today.
Bond was set at $7,500 cash, which Durben was unable to post.
