Ethel Irene (Landman) Allison

Ethel Irene Landman Allison, 89 of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away November 22, 2011. She was born in Dunbar, Pa. on October 3, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Hattie Landman.

She grew up in Whitsett and graduated from Perry Township schools.

She was married to the love of her life, Paul Russell Allison of Perryopolis, Pa. for 40 years until his death in 1985. Paul was a veteran of WWII and upon his completion of his service in the North American Campaign, he was transferred to New York City where he worked as an ambulance driver transporting injured German POWS to military hospitals. Ethel joined him there and worked as a welder on Navy ships in Bayone, New Jersey.

Ethel will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a compassionate caregiver to the sick and elderly, a dedicated member of her United Methodist Church and a tireless volunteer to her community.

She is survived by her loving children: her son Paul Robert Allison who resides in Edgewater, Md. with his partner Frank C. Branchini and her daughter June Rae Lucas and her husband Edward Joseph Lucas, Sr. of Mineral, Va. She was the proud grandmother and great grandmother to three: granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Mitchell and husband Steven and their three great grandchildren of Greenfield, Mass.; grandson Edward Joseph Lucas, Jr. and wife April and their five great grand-children of Spotsylvania, Va. and granddaughter Paula Rae Noice and husband Charles and their four great grand-children of Greensboro, N.C. She is also survived by sisters: Norma Jean Sherlock of Uniontown, Pa. and Luray June Hall of Austin, Texas. She will leave behind many relatives and friends who came to know and love her during her lifetime in the Perryopolis area.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa. Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service. Pastor David Means will be officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fayette Home Care and Hospice, Lemont Furnace, PA 15456.
