By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

An elderly Fairchance man is behind bars after police allege he threatened his family with a rifle at their home Tuesday afternoon.

State police Trooper Robert Wilson said Thorton Darnell Lewis, 77, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Ronald J. Haggerty Jr. with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Wilson said the charges were filed after Lewis, who had spent the afternoon drinking at his High Street home, got into an argument with his wife, daughter and two other people at his home shortly after 5 p.m.
