California participating in river town program

California Borough has been selected as one of five communities along the Monongahela River to participate in an economic stimulus program.

Cathy McCollom, director of the Upper Mon River Town program, addressed the borough council Thursday, noting that a similar program along the Great Allegheny Passage bicycle trail was so successful that the Benedum Foundation has provided two years of funding to see if the same success can be had along the river.
