A Uniontown man was stabbed in the chest following a fight early Sunday in Uniontown.

Officer Jason Fidazzo said the incident occurred at 5:42 a.m. to a location on Collins Avenue for a report of a man lying on the sidewalk suffering a stab wound to the chest.

Fidazzo said that responding officers found Bernard Richardson III, 26, lying outside 30 Collins Ave.

Richardson told police that he was engaged in an altercation with a man known to him only as “G.”

During the scuffle, Richardson said “G” stabbed him in the chest before fleeing the scene, Fidazzo said.

Richardson told police that the fight was regarding his girlfriend, Fidazzo said.

Fidazzo said that Richardson was taken by Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information regarding the stabbing is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
