William W. Means

William W. Means, age 78 of Hopwood, Pa. passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
He was born June 18, 1933 in Youngwood, Pa., son of the late William J. and Jesse (DeWalt) Means.
Bill was a member of the Hopwood United Methodist Church, a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post No. 51.
He was a member of the Hutchinson Sportsman’s Club. Bill spent the first 10 years of teaching in the Towanda School District and retired from Laurel Highlands School District in 1993.
Surviving are his wife Virginia (Balsone) Means; children: Diane Givler and husband Michael of Stafford, Va., William J. Means and wife Lana of Florence, Ky. and Robert A. Means and wife Julie of Lancaster, Pa; 8 granchildren: Chelsea, Tanner and Sydney Givler, Billy, Tyler and Kara Means, Matthew and Madison Means and a sister Beverly Hellein and husband Donald of Belpre, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood today (Thursday) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday until 11:00, the Hour of Service with Rev. Diane Olson officiating.
Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
