State Sunday school convention proves blessing

1 min read

The pastor of Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown said the congregation felt blessed to have been able to host the 149th annual Pennsylvania State Sunday School Convention last weekend.

The Rev. Chris Enoch said, “We were part of the blessing that everyone got out of the weekend and it was our joy to host it.”

Enoch reported that about 200 people from all over Pennsylvania attended the convention, which took place Oct. 21-22 at Third Presbyterian, located at 425 Union St. Many of the participants stayed at area hotels.

The convention used the theme “Back to the Bible: Read, Study, Obey” from Psalm 119:11. Enoch said the general session focused on that theme.

“Our main focus is to use God’s word – the Bible. It’s tempting to get away from that but we can’t. We worship Jesus Christ but our understanding of Jesus Christ comes form the Bible, which is as it should be,” Enoch said.
