Elizabeth ‘Libby’ (Mari) Skala, 70, of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in the Uniontown Hospital w i t h her loving F a m i l y by her side.

She w a s b o r n o n Tuesday, March 4, 1941 the daughter of Julius Mari and Elizabeth (Lexie) Mari in Brownsville, Pennsylvania.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Saint Mary, Leckrone, Pennsylvania where she was a member of the Saint Mary’s Rosary Society.

‘Libby’ loved to cook for the Church Bazaar and was the Co-Chair of the Bazaar events.

She was also a member of General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 Ladies Auxiliary in Hopwood.

‘Libby’ was a Cook at Monaghan’s Nursing Home.

She loved to bake and enjoyed making meals for all her children on Sunday.

She loved playing cards and Yahtzee.

She especially loved doing puzzles with her son Louie!

‘Libby’ was an avid Pittsburgh STEELERS Fan.

She loved angels and also Christmas and had a heart of gold. Her children couldn’t ask for a Better Mother!

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Louis R. Skala; infant grandson, Jeremy Lewis Hildock; a son-in-law, Scot Russell; and three sisters and two brothers, Esther File, Joseph Mari, John Mari, Marie Jeffries and Anna Mae Riffle.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: C a r o l e R u s s e l l o f H o p w o o d, Pennsylvania, Veronica Dillow of McClellandtown, J u l i e Hildock and her husband John of Hopwood, Louis Skala of McClellandtown and Stephanie Sloboda and husband Brad of McClellandtown; six grandchildren: R e b e c c a Russell Scot Russell, Nicole Conn, Jarret Hildock, J o n a t h a n Hildock, Gabrielle Sloboda; great grandchildren Morgan Murray and Makayla Murray; two brothers and three sisters: William Mari and his wife Margaret, R i c h a r d Mari, Christina DeFrank (who was Libby’s special helper for the past three years), Dorothy Kuston and Sara Mari all of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pennsylvania on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Saint Mary, Leckrone, Pennsylvania with Reverend Father John M. Butler and the Reverend Father Andrew W. Kowicki as Concelebrants.

Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Church Cemetery Leckrone, Pennsylvania.

Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. followed by recitation of the Rosary by the Saint Mary’s Rosary Society.

A Service by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 Ladies Auxiliary of Hopwood will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
