Uniontown police said they have contacted the Secret Service after a woman passed three counterfeit $20 bills at the General George C. Marshall Post Office in Uniontown Tuesday evening.

Officer Eric Hanula said police were summoned to the post office on Iowa Street shortly after 6 p.m. after employees realized they had received several bogus $20 bills.

Hanula said postal employee Cindy Yeagley told officers that a woman in her 20s and wearing dark glasses entered the post office that afternoon and purchases three money orders totaling $2,500.

Following the transaction, Yeagley told police that postal officials discovered that three $20 bills used by the woman were counterfeit.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
