Ronald Lee ‘Ron’ Watkins, age 62, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Oakland Division, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born July 18 1949 in Uniontown, Pa.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean Watkins, a sister Saundra Rodgers, a brother Daniel Watkins, his fiancée Brenda McShane and also his dog ‘Winston’.

Ron proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam as a member of the United States Marine Corp., and was a member of the American Legion Post 51. He was a construction worker employed with Kelly Construction for many years, and most recently was employed with Vermin Control.

Left to cherish his memory is his father, Matt Copus of Los Vegas; his children, Whitney Vail and husband Matthew of Uniontown, Pa.; Michael McShane of Uniontown, Pa.; Pamela Reese and husband Marko of Brownsville, Pa.; and Penny McShane of Uniontown, Pa.; a granddaughter, LeeAnna Friend; his aunt Audrey Watkins, and cousin John Watkins both of Uniontown, Pa. He also leaves behind his pets, dog Sayge, and cat Leah.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N.Gallatin Avenue , Ext., Uniontown, PA today (Sunday) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, September 12, from 10 until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Rev. Bernard Carl Officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded at graveside by American Legion Post 51, and VFW Post 47.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
