William F. Coburn

William F. Coburn, 50 of Connellsville, Pa. passed away F r i d a y, September 8, 2011 in Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 16, 1960 in Morgantown, West Va.

He graduated from Morgan-town High and Fairmont State University. Bill attended Catholic Mass at St. Rita R.C. in Connellsville and had started the process of RCIA. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of FMC (Fresenius Medical Care) as a Technical Service Supervisor for 21 years. He had many friends at FMC and will be sadly missed.

Bill was a member of No. 4 Masonic Lodge in Morgan-town, West Virginia and the order of DeMolay in Morgan-town, West Virginia.

Bill was preceded in death by his Mother, Geraldine R. Coburn, his Father Clifford A. Coburn and brother John Thomas Coburn.

He is survived by his heart broken and loving wife Claudia Coburn; daughters: Theresa Ann Morgan and her husband Nathan and their three children: Alyssa, Brooklyn and Nathan II; Jennifer Ellen Salandra and Christine Lee Salandra and her fiancé Vincent Cochran. He will be greatly missed by his sister Valerie Sappington, her husband, Douglas Sappington, and their children, Kyle and Kristen; his brother Clifford Coburn and wife, Ione Coburn. Also survived by his Mother -in-Law, Janis Furtney to whom he was like a son. He will also be deeply and forever missed by his sisters-in-law, Wanda Coburn and her son Damon Coburn and his son Elijah, Rebecca Marshala and her husband Peter Marshala, Mary Johnston and her husband Rusty Johnston, Caroline Sefscik and her husband Raymond Sefscik, and his brother -in-law Mark J. Furtney; niece Brigette and nephews Patrick, Seth and Raymond III.

Throughout his life Bill’s main concern was looking after his family and building strong relationships with all his family members resulting in a bond that kept the family united.

Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First Street, West Side, Connellsville, (724-628-9033) today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A blessing service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in St Rita R.C. Church with Fr. Joseph E. Bonafed as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation and American Cancer Society.
