Dunbar man facing charges for alleged escape

A Dunbar man is facing multiple charges after he ran from members of the Fayette County Drug Task Force during a search at a residence in Dunbar in June.

Detectives from the task force filed charges against Donald Ray Cooley Jr., 33, including escape, resisting arrest, providing false identification to law enforcement and simple assault.

Officers said the incident occurred June 11 when task force members conducted a search at a residence on Oglevee Lane.

During the sweep, officers said that all occupants inside the home were placed in temporary custody for officers safety and further investigation.
