Escapee captured following police chase in Fairchance

State police confirmed this afternoon that a Dunbar woman wanted since she escaped from a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy last week was captured today following a high-speed chase in the Fairchance area.
Marybeth Beal, 21, was captured following the pursuit that ended when an unidentified man driving the vehicle she was riding in crashed while fleeing officers, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Police said Beal was able to get out of the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot through a field before she was captured by troopers Charles R. Frey and Greg Keefer.
She was then taken by ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. for treatment of multiple injuries.
Police said the man was also injured in the crash and was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial as well.
Beal assaulted a sheriff’s deputy and then fled on foot following her arrest on a bench warrant at the Fayette County Courthouse in Uniontown Sept. 8.
The following day Beal allegedly carjacked a Connellsville man at a location in North Union Township.
Police have been actively seeking her since her escape and she is facing a bevy of charges, including multiple felony counts.
