Joseph Kovach, Sr., 82, of Uniontown, Pa., formerly of Masontown, Pa., passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown.

He was born in Martin, Pa. on June 4, 1929, the son of the late Steve and Anna (Pauchan) Kovach.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and held several jobs before retiring from J C Loading Company.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Eleanor (Tokish) Kovach; son Joseph Kovach, Jr., Wooster, Ohio; grandchildren:Katherine Kovach, Columbus, Ohio and Sarah Kovach, Akron, Ohio; brother Steve Kovach, Portland, Oregon and sister Ann Gargiulo, Whitestone, N.Y.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA, Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday until 11:00 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, St. Mary’s, Leckrone, PA with Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.

Interment follows at St. Mary’s Cemetery-Leckrone, Pa

Military Rites will be accorded by Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584 and American Legion Post 423.
