Police investigate after stuffed bear stolen from local bar

Uniontown police said they are investigating a bizarre incident that began when five men tossed an 8-foot stuffed bear from a second-floor deck at a city bar and ended when the several hundred pound bear was stolen several hours later.

Officer Travis Shandor said police were first summoned to the Eagle’s Nest on Morgantown Street at 1:38 a.m. Sunday for a report of several men damaging a stuffed bear.

Shandor said that the men, who were not identified, pushed the bear, which is professionally stuffed and mounted, over a railing on a second-floor deck to the cement patio below.
