Ground broken for California hotel
Ground was broken Thursday for an 84-room hotel in the California Technology Park.
Washington County Redevelopment authority executive director William McGowen said a number of factors are coming together to make a hotel a viable business venture at this time.
“The number one factor is that the convocation center at California University of Pennsylvania is going to be completed soon and with that convocation center comes a number of small conferences. They’re already starting to get booked,” McGowen said.
Other factors include the pending completion of the Mon/Fayette Expressway and the growth of businesses in the technology park.
