Joseph W. Bobincheck

Joseph W. Bobincheck, age 87, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011.

He was born on February 13, 1924 in Uledi, Pa, son of the late George and Mary (Lucas) Bobincheck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Edward Bobincheck and infant daughter Carol Ann.

Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa. Joe was an active leader in Troop 668 of the Boy Scouts of America in Palmer in the 60’s and 70’s.

He served his country with the United States Navy from July 28, 1943 to March 24, 1946. Radioman 2nd class served in the South Pacific, awarded the Pacific Theater Medal with 1 Star, American Theater Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Joseph was a member of The Fort Mason America Legion Post 423 of Masontown, Pa., The Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584 of Masontown, Pa., a 1942 Graduate of German Township High School and a former member of the Adah Volunteer Fire Department. Joseph was retired from U.S. Steel, Robena mine and Bethlehem Steel Leetsdale, Pa.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Richard J. Bobincheck and wife Denise of McClellandtown, Pa. with whom he made his home, Kathleen G. McClure and husband James of Prior Lake, Mn., grandchildren Jennifer Frantz and husband Justin, Brandon J. McClure; Elizabeth A. McClure, great grand-children: Ava Frantz and Anna Frantz; Brothers: George Bobincheck Jr., of Adah, Pa., Leonard Bobincheck and wife Janet of Adah, Pa., Donald Bobincheck and wife Penny of Sewickley, Pa., and a sister Alice Richnafsky of Gates, Pa. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa. Friday from 2 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, September 24, 2011 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.

A Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m.

The Family would like to thank the Staff of Amedisys Health Care and the Staff of Comfort Keepers for all the care they gave to Joe.

Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where military honors will be accorded by The Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584 of Masontown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 620 in care of Scout Master Charles C. Coldren 45 Princeton Ave. Uniontown, PA, 15401.
