Maude H. Porter
Maude H. Porter, age 100 years of Uniontown, Pa. died Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown. She was born May 1, 1911 in Grindstone, the daughter of the late William Higinbotham and Sarah Coffman Higinbotham.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira Paul Porter and the following brothers and sisters George , Samuel, Robert and Charles Higin-botham, Alice McCune and Ruth Campbell.
Maude was a graduate of Redstone High School Class of 1931 and a member Asbury United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters Midge Stillwagon and husband Bart of Nashville, Tenn. and Gladys Van Sickle and husband Dale of North Huntingdon, Pa.; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two sisters Hazel McCune of Centerville, Pa. and Nellie Leichtliter of McClellandtown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
The family will receive friends today (Sunday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of the service celebrating Maude’s life with Rev.Kenneth VanSickle officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
