Richard R. Greene, 69, of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, September 23, 2011, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on February 17, 1942, in Brier Hill, Pa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William A. and Emma Irene Fletcher Greene, 3 brothers, Robert, William J. and James Greene, a sister Thelma Louise Hudson, 2 nieces, Carol Ambrisco and Tammy Beulah and 2 nephews, James Troy Stark and Josh Chanaki.

Richard was a graduate of Mapletown High School, served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a former employee of General Motors Corporation.

Surviving are 2 sisters: Harriet Ilene Chanaki of Waynesburg, Pa. and Shirley Gail Stark of Mullica Hill, N.J.; 3 nephews: Richard Hudson and wife, Pamela of Smock, Pa., Gregory Chanaki of W.Va., and Jeffrey Stark and wife, Christy of N.J.; 4 nieces: Sandra Martoncik and husband Joseph and Linda Petrush of Oliver, Pa., Tracy Courso and husband Anthony of Alicia, Pa., and Carma Stark of N.J. and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to Noon.

Funeral services will be held at Noon with the Reverend Art Mace officiating.

Private interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
