A man faces multiple charges after explosives were found inside his North Union Township home Tuesday.

State police said Michael A. Suich, 43, of 47 Rose Boulevard was charged with possession of prohibited offensive weapons, reckless endangerment and possessing weapons of mass destruction.

Trooper Alec Hamilton said “several homemade improvised explosive devices” were discovered inside Suich’s residence after a search warrant was conducted on the home around 4:30 p.m.

Hamilton said officials removed the explosives from the home without incident.

In addition to police, officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded, as did the Allegheny County Bomb Squad.

Suich was arraigned on the charges and placed in Fayette County Prison after failing to post a $10,000 straight cash bond.

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
