Police identify injured man in home invasion
California police have identified a man injured by gunfire Tuesday morning when two suspects broke into his home in California.
Police said Carey Joseph Davis, 22, of 111 California Road was struck by two bullets during the home invasion.
One of the bullets struck Davis in the left arm and a second shot struck him in the buttocks. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Davis told police that he was awoken at 8:16 a.m. when his dog began barking.
He said he then realized that two men were in his home, police said.
Investigators said that Davis grabbed a firearm and began chasing the suspects from his residence when one of the men turned toward him and began to fire a handgun, striking Davis twice.
