Charges dismissed against man in kidnapping
All charges were dismissed Thursday against a Ligonier man accused ofCharges dismissed against man in kidnapping kidnapping a Fayette County man in the trunk of his car, driving him to a remote location and assaulting him.
State police Trooper Robert Reitler said Joshua J. Shreve, 26, of 306 Indian St. was charged last month before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr. with kidnapping, robbery, theft, simple assault and harassment.
The charges were dismissed against Shreve following a preliminary hearing this afternoon after the alleged victim failed to testify.
Reitler said the charged had been filed following an incident that occurred shortly after 9 p.m. July 1 near Shroyers Corners in Springfield Township.
