John R. Lohr
John R. Lohr, 82, of Mt. Braddock, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1929 in Connellsville, a son of the late John D. and Florenda Marie Dawson Lohr.
Prior to his retirement John worked as a pump operator for Texas Eastern. He was a lifetime member of the Pillar of Fire Church in Mt. Braddock. John was an avid sports fan and loved the Steelers, Pirates, and Penn State.
John will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his children Robert Lohr and wife Patricia of Mt. Braddock and Donna Varva and husband Thomas of Uniontown; his grandchildren Christina Shirley and husband Oca of Uniontown, Kevin Trombetta and wife Lori of Blairsville, Audra Trombetta and Carla Lohr and her fiancee Elmer Shriver all of Uniontown, and Robert Lohr Jr. and wife Sarah of Smithfield; his great grandchildren Heather Holland, Joshua McKlveen, Avery Wormack, Eric Allen, and John, Nathaniel, and Daniel Shriver; his brothers George Lohr and wife Faye and Homer Lohr all of Connellsville and his sisters-in-law: Ruth Ann Lohr of Mt. Braddock, Jean Houser of Connellsville, and Carol Lohr of Massachusetts.
In addition to his parents John was predeceased by his first wife Audrey Sanner Lohr, his second wife Myrna L. Cross Lohr, and his brothers Donald, Harry, and Larry Lohr. The family would like to give a special thanks to the PCC nurses and aides at Uniontown Hospital for all of their loving care given to John during his stay there.
Family and friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held Sat. at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Lee Maley officiating.
