Plans for youth ministry programs announced
Uniontown Roman Catholic churches are initiating youth ministry programs with the start of fall.
St. Therese Parish, located at 61 Mill St., is kicking off its senior high school program for grades nine through 12 at 12:30 p.m. this Sunday with a Steeler tailgate and game party.
George Lisac, pastoral associate, explained that interested youths, who can bring a friend, are invited to attend 11:30 a.m. Mass Sunday and then proceed to the parish center or simply come to the parish center at 12:30 p.m. for a day of faith, food and football. The parish center is located behind the church, facing Morgantown Street.
Students in sixth through eighth grades will be able to participate in a faith formation program, beginning Monday. The session lasts from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at St. Therese Parish Center.
St. John the Evangelist Parish will kickoff its program for youth and formation in grades six through 12 on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish center at 88 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Activities and events throughout the year will include volleyball tournaments, basketball games, movie nights in the gymnasium, presentations of the faith through the experience of various organizations and missionary efforts of the church.
