By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Redstone Township police are investigating after an apparent armed robbery at a convenience store Wednesday night.

Sgt. Norman Howard said he learned that something was amiss at Jackson Farms Dairy on Route 40 around 9:30 p.m. when a panic alarm at the store was reported to Fayette County 911.

Howard said an unidentified man entered the store and appeared to be concealing a handgun under his shirt.

Howard said the man approached store employee Haleigh Zosky and demanded money.

Zosky told police that she gave the man $250 from the register and he then fled the store, Howard said.

Witnesses told police that the man ran across the parking lot and then down Stone Church Road.

Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Howard said the suspect was described as a heavyset white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 250 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe across the front, green gloves, baggy jeans and a green bandana over part of his face.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 724-246-0758.
