Three teens charged in violent attack
Uniontown police said they filed charges against three Uniontown High School students after they assaulted another student after school and robbed him Sept. 22.
Officer Michael C. Garrow Sr. said the boys, aged 13, 14, and 15, were each charged in Fayette County Juvenile Court with robbery, assault, theft and disorderly conduct following the incident.
According to Garrow, the three teens jumped a 16-year-old student as he was leaving the high school at 2:35 p.m.
Garrow said the suspects approached the victim and one of the boys tried to engage him in a fist fight.
Garrow said that the alleged victim repeatedly tried to walk away from the suspects but eventually one of the boys took his book bag and the others started to punch him in the face.
The boys continued to beat him and, once he had fallen to the ground, kicked him several times in the face and head, Garrow said.
The suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s book bag.
Garrow said the boy suffered injuries to his head and stomach and was treated at Uniontown Hospital for his injuries.
He noted that the entire assault was captured on video taken by another student who then sent the video of the attack to the cellphone of one of the suspects.
Police were able to seize that video and take it into evidence.
Two of the teens charged were already on juvenile probation for weapons violations, Garrow noted.
