John Lengjak (October 4, 1922-March 27, 2012)
John Lengjak, age 89, of Monroe, Wisconsin, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, Wis.
He was born October 4, 1922 in Oliver, Pa., to Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Elizabeth (Hromluk) Lengjak.
He graduated from North Union High School before serving in the US Army during WWII. John was a combat veteran with the 45th Division, participating in the invasion of Italy (Anzio), southern France (Saint Maxime) and was wounded near Riepertsviller (Alsace) on February 5, 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
John lived in Beloit where he was employed at and retired from General Motors. John loved his Army reunions and traveling to France.
He is survived by his daughter Beatrice (John) Tolson of Rockton, Ill.; one son, Jean-Paul (Beatrix) Lengjak of Beloit, Wis.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Laura) Lengjak of Roscoe, Ill. and sisters, Helen Mrosko of Uniontown, Pa. and Margie Smith of Carmichaels, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Suzanne; sisters, Mary, Annie and Julie and brothers, Michael, Charles and Frank.
