Man charged in drug sting

By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

A Republic man is facing a second set of drug charges after police allege he sold drugs to a confidential informant in Republic last year.

Fayette County Drug Task Force Detective Norman Howard said Barry L. Barreca, 53, was charged Monday before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with delivery of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Those charges were filed just two months after state police charged Barreca before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr. with two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly selling drugs to a confidential informant in a similar undercover operation.
