John Thomas Masuga

John Thomas Masuga, age 83 of Carmichaels, died April 17, 2012 in his home.

Mr. Masuga was born August 11, 1928 in Rowes Run, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Takacs Masuga.

On November 25, 1954, John married Nancy Turina Masuga, who survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mary Ann Spanovich ( M i k e ), Morgantown, W.Va., Janet Bocchini (Dave), Pittsburgh, B e t h Masuga, Waynesburg and Carol Lindee (Scott), Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren: L a u r e n Zimmerman, Waynesburg, Mark Bocchini, Chicago, Illinois, John Bocchini, Charlotte, N.C., C o r e y and Sam Spanovich, Morgantown, W.Va.; one great granddaughter, Aria Claire Finley, Waynesburg; o n e s i s t e r: Dolores Doody (Bob), Waynesburg and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Masuga served his country in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War.

As a young man, he played minor league baseball with the Cleveland Indians Farm Club. In later years, he loved to play golf.

He worked as a foreman at the former Fruehauf Plant in Uniontown until his retirement.

Mr. Masuga was a member of St. Hugh Church in Carmichaels, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday April 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in ST. HUGH CHURCH, CARMICHAELS with the Reverend John Bauer, Celebrant.
