Edgar Fields, 81, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Lemont Furnace , Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at home.

He was born September 25, 1930 in Coolspring, Pa., son of the late Elzie and Lucy (Yowler) Fields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lorraine (Landman) Fields and these brothers and sisters: William and Elmer Fields, E l s i e Balsinger, Hazel Provance, Marie Cooper, Pearl Shaw, Thelma Weir, Annie Fields and Pauline Castle.

Surviving are his son, with whom he made his home, Eddie B. Fields of Carmichaels, Pa.

Edgar was a member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday in COVE RUN METHODIST CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of the service with Pastor Paul Eckenrode officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. American Legion Post 51, Uniontown will provide military rites at the graveside.
