Anna Warsack

Anna Warsack, age 96, a resident of Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 surrounded and supported by her family.

She was born May 8, 1915 in Hope, Pa., daughter of Andrew and Mary Swartz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Warsack; a son, Andrew, who died in infancy; four brothers, Andrew, Frank, John, and Joseph Swartz; two sisters, Mary Hunchuck and Catherine Elek.

Anna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Carmichaels and the Sewing Circle at the church. She enjoyed making crafts and quilting lap robes and slippers for shut-ins. She also was a wonderful baker, always having her grandchildren’s favorite cookies and treats on hand for them.

She is survived by her son, Richard Warsack and wife Joyce of Sebring, Fla.; her daughter, Andrea Smell and husband Edward of Carmichaels; a granddaughter, Linda Buerk and husband Joseph a n d great-granddaughter, Ally, of Bethel Park, Pa; a grandson, Michael Smell and his fiance Lindsay Zeleznik of Oakdale, Pa; two brothers, George Swartz and Michael Swartz, both of Uniontown; two sisters, Margaret McClain of Uniontown, and Helen Casteel of LaVale, Md. and many nephews and nieces.

A private family visitation and funeral service led by the Rev. Herb Dubler will be held at the H. DAVID McELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main Street, McClellandtown today, followed by interment in Jacobs Ev. Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 224 S. Market St., Carmichaels, Pa. 15320.
