Marian C. ‘Nickie’ Nickman Pitman
Marian C. ‘Nickie’ (Nickman) Pitman, 80, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at A l l e g h e n y General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born on April 21, 1932 in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of Wesley Nickman and Clara (Yezbak) Nickman.
Marian was a member of St. George Maronite Catholic Church.
She graduated from Connellsville High School, Class of 1950, and was a member of the Connellsville High School ’50’s Club’.
Marian worked at the Nickman family businesses all of her life. She loved working with her brothers so much. She had completed a full day’s work on the day that she fell ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; h u s b a n d, Robert E. Pitman on April 24, 2012; and a sister and brother-in-law, B e r n i c e and Donald Howard Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Sandra L. Pitman, Davidsonville, Maryland; her grandsons: Wesley R. Pitman of Annapolis, Maryland and Brian C. Pitman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her brothers: Elias ‘Eddie’ Nickman Sr. and wife Ruth and James W. Nickman Sr. and wife Karen all of Uniontown, Pa. Marian also was a devoted aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
F r i e n d s w i l l b e received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 N o r t h Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., Monday, December 3, from 3 until 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, December 4, 2012 until 9:30 a.m.
The Divine Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, Six L e b a n o n T e r r a c e, Uniontown, with Rev. Father Nadim Helou, MLM, as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
The Parish Rosary will be said Monday at 3:30 followed by the Service of Ghinnaz at 4 p.m.
