Feed the Children distributing food today
Feed the Children will deliver a tractor-trailer truck full of food and essentials to Fayette County Community Action Agency in Uniontown today.
The food and essentials will be distributed to families beginning at 2 p.m. at 119 N. Beeson Blvd.
Teleperformance is a longtime supporter of Feed the Children and is sponsoring the event. Employees from the Teleperformance call center will be on hand to help distribute boxes.
Fayette County Community Action Agency has identified the recipient families.
Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
According to Feed the Children, one in three children living in Fayette County (33.9 percent) is considered impoverished. The number of impoverished children living in Pennsylvania (522,189) could fill Heinz Field in Pittsburgh more than eight times.
“We are so thankful to Teleperformance and their employees for helping to provide food and essentials to children and their families,” said Tony Sellars, spokesman for Feed The Children. “We hope people will help us put more trucks on the road and provide assistance for fellow Americans who are suffering through the current economic downturn.”
“On behalf of Teleperformance, volunteers and those we help and serve in our communities and around the globe, I wanted to say that we are very grateful to be working with a great charitable partner, such as Feed The Children,” said Kerry Black of Teleperformance’s Citizen of the World Team. “It is through collaborations of foundations, businesses and individuals like you that we are able to make a difference not only in our own communities, but around the globe.”
