The Mountain Weatherman: White Christmas on the Way

1 min read

The clouds didn’t break up yesterday like I thought they would and that kept us chilly all day.  The high yesterday was 40, the 24 low 32 and we were 34 degrees at 7AM under cloudy skies. We had just a trace of precipitation yesterday.  We’ll have strong southwest flow with a mild windy afternoon ahead of a sharp cold front that will bring rain showers later today.  After the front passes this evening the rain will change to snow giving us a quick inch or two creating hazardous driving conditions over night.  Strong Northwest flow kicks in tomorrow with snow showers, heavy at times in the mountains through tomorrow night with lots of blowing and drifting.  We should see a foot or so of accumulation by Saturday morning when the lake effect begins to ease up.  Sunday through Christmas day will be dry with temperatures warming a bit each day.
