The Mountain Weatherman: Merry Christmas!
The brilliant blue sky made for some pretty winter scenes yesterday and the sunshine warmed us to near normal temperatures here. The high yesterday was 38, the 24 hour low 10 and we were 15 degrees at 7AM under cloudy skies. There was no precipitation yesterday and we have 4 inches of snow on the ground. Weak low pressure from the SW will cross the area today bringing a mixed bag of light wintry precipitation for the mountains that could include freezing rain, sleet or some snow, none of which will amount to much but could create some hazardous driving and slippery sidewalks. That precipitation will end as some drizzle that could freeze tonight then Christmas day’s looking cool and dry before a stronger storm brings another mixed bag of weather for Wednesday when we could see snow or ice changing to rain then back to snow at night with snow showers for Thursday.
