Florabell (Goslin) Loverdi

Florabell (Goslin) Loverdi, age 85, of Mulligan Manor in Brownsville, Pa., died Saturday, December 29, 2012 with her loving family by her side. 

She was born on March 19, 1927 in Waynesburg, Pa., Daughter of the late Ellsworth Goslin and Elizabeth (Bell) Goslin.

She was the beloved Wife of the late Tony ‘Ninnie’ Loverdi.

She was predeceased by a Brother, Richard (Dick) Goslin; and Sister, Emma (Betty Ferguson.

She was a member of The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville.

Florabell in her younger days, was involved with various community clubs and loved every minute: the Heart Association, Democratic Women’s Club West Brownsville Ladies Auxiliary, the Children and Youth Board, and in the early 1960’s started the Brownsville High School Post Prom Committee.

Florabell was also co-owner of the Brownsville Dairy Bar on High Street where the students from Brashear High School would come to eat lunch.

Her real love was the Sons of Italy Rosa Garibaldi Lodge 1818, Brownsville, where she was the President for over 30 years, cooked for spaghetti dinners and held various positions in the SOI Grand Lodge.

Left to cherish her memory are a Sister, Sandra Goslin Davison and husband Jack; two loving Daughters: Nena Kaminsky and husband Albert ‘Snake’, and Tena Congelio and husband Lou; Grandchildren: H e a t h e r Kaminsky Lowry, Douglas Kaminsky, John Kaminsky, Dante Congelio, Dino Congelio; Great Grandchildren: Blair Lowry, John and Kaylee Kaminsky, Dante II and Dominico Congelio; numerous Nieces, Nephews; and many Friends.

A special thank-you to Jeanie, her caregiver.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville Pa., on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 – 8 p.m. Where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Father Joseph D. Armamento as Celebrant.

Interment Lafayette Memorial Park.

The Rosa Garibaldi Lodge 1818 will conduct their ritual Wednesday at 4 p.m. www.- skirpanfuneralhome.com
