Walter H. Jones
Walter H. Jones, age 92, of Dickerson Run, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Dunbar Township, Pennsylvania on October 2, 1919 son of Walter N. Jones and Lillie Mae (Niswonger) Jones.
Walter was a member of the Philip G. Cochran United Methodist Church in Dawson where he was a member of the Dart Ball Team.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Central Pacific and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with One Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Ribbon, the Victory Medal and was a member of Emory Lewis Pratt American Legion Post 586 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 21.
Walter was a Life Member of the DL&V Volunteer Fire Company.
He loved watching sports!
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wilmer ‘Red’; and sisters, Rosella Lynn, Helen Grace Mulac, Arlene Wiedeman, Gladys Oglevee; and a son-in-law, John Bastardi.
Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, Delphia Gibson Jones whom he married on August 31, 1946; a son, Robert M. and wife Gerri of Dickerson Run; daughters: Diann Bastardi and companion Jeff Graham of Frenchville, Pa., M y r a Barnhart and husband Greg of New Alexandria, Pa.; grandchildren: Sonya Lowry and husband Jamie who took care off Walter, Robert M. Jr. and fiancee Becky Willard, George Jones and wife Jessica, Tonya Smith and her husband Neil, B r a n d o n Sigafoes and companion Justine, Ashley Sabatula and companion Jeff Bell; eight grandchildren; a brother, E a r l L e s t er o f California state; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the RALPH E. GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, Railroad Street, Dawson, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the DAWSON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with the Reverend David H. Bell officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pennsylvania.
