Willis J. ‘Bill’ Nolle
Willis J. ‘Bill’ Nolle, 90, of Masontown, Pa., died at home on Saturday, February 4, 2012.
He was born on July 9, 1921 in Wexford, Pa., the son of Thomas and Irene (Gerard) Nolle.
‘Bill’ graduated from Mount Lebanon High School where he had been very active in sports, especially soccer.
‘Bill’ proudly served his country as a sergeant during World War II in the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operations. He was awarded many medals but was most proud of the following three medals: (1) Bronze Star, (2) Combat Infantry Badge, and France’s highest honor, (3) The National Legion of Honor for his distinguished military service in France.
‘Bill’ was retired from EIS Automotive in Connecticut where he was an automotive salesman.
Later, he was self-employed at Pennstar Sales Associates in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Dorothy; son, Paul; and brothers, Thomas, Raymond and Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Anita (Mojock) Nolle; son, Richard and wife Suzie of Penn Valley, California; granddaughters: Michelle Nolle and Paige Chaney; great grandchildren: Christopher Nolle and Lacey Nolle; sister-in-law, Janet Nolle; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Wednesday, February 8, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, Masontown, with Reverend Father James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Interment followed in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 and the American Legion Post 423.
Parish Rosary will be said today at 3:30 p.m.
