Police seek man in attempted child exploitation case
State police are looking for a South Connellsville man, wanted on charges that he sent a 12-year-old girl sexually-charged text messages.
Wayne Nicholas Hillyard, 22, was charged with attempted sexual exploitation of children, corruption of minors and harassment Thursday.
Trooper Craig Soltis alleged that between Jan. 1 and 21, Hillyard sent the girl messages that included sexual content and asked her to send him a naked picture of herself. The matter came to the attention of state police when the girl told her father what was allegedly happening.
HeraldStandard.com does not identify alleged victims in cases that deal with alleged sex crimes.
The charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr.
