West Leisenring man waives charges in multiple sexual assaults
A West Leisenring man will have his day in court for allegedly sexually assaulting three juvenile girls in North Union Township from 1993 to 2001.
State police Trooper Daniel R. Barnhart said Gregory Allen Handlin, 51, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with attempted rape of a child, six counts of indecent assault of a child, two counts of indecent exposure and a single count of indecent assault.
Handlin waived all charges against him to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing Wednesday afternoon.
The charges against Handlin were filed Jan. 4 following a police investigation into the allegations, Barnhart said.
Investigators said the sexual encounters occurred with more three young girls at locations in North Union Township at different times during an eight-year period beginning in 1993.

Handlin is lodged in Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond.
