Betty Jean Birch Van Sickle
Betty Jean Birch Van Sickle, age 82, of Point Marion, formerly of Greensboro died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in her home with her loving husband, David, by her side.
Mrs. Van Sickle was born June 24, 1929 in Stringtown, near Carmichaels, the daughter of the late George F. and Mary Dusenberry Birch.
Betty attended Cumberland Twp. High School in Carmichaels, and worked at Houze Glass Corp., Pt. Marion for 27 years.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Carmichaels for 50 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David A. Van Sickle Jr.; a brother, Frank Birch; two sisters, Dolores Howard and Joann Fabery, all of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Judith Birch and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Wilda Varesko and brother, Dwayne Birch.
She will be fondly remembered by her ‘Saturday Night Friends.’
Friends will be received on Saturday February 25, 2012 from noon until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the LESAKO FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, Carmichaels, Pa. with the Reverend Bruce Judy, officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Greene County Memorial Park Mausoleum, Waynesburg.
