Fire displaces family from home

The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of a Saturday night fire in Menallen Township that destroyed a mobile home and left a family homeless. Five fire companies battled the blaze along Old Route 51 Road, near the Route 51 Autowreckers for nearly two hours. No one was injured in the fire which started at approximately 7 p.m.. In addition to New Salem, Smock, Flatwood, West Leisenring and North Union volunteer fire companies, Fayette EMS also responded to the fire.
