Freelon Esdell (Poole)Davis age 76 of Uniontown, passed away peacefully at home with her family, Saturday, January 14, 2012.

Mrs. Davis was born March 15, 1935 in Roxboro, North Carolina. She was the eldest daughter and third child of the late James Lewis Poole and Esdell Paylor Poole.

At an early age Freelon confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized and joined the Mill Hill Baptist Church in North Carolina.

She was a faithful member of the City Chapel Church in Uniontown where the Reverend Leonard Kirby is pastor. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James D. Davis, Sr.; siblings: June, Bobby Lee, Joseph ‘Coydell’ and Mary Louise ‘Ease’.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Edward Davis Washington, D.C., Jerry Davis of Atlanta, Ga., and James D. Davis, Jr. of Uniontown, Pa; brothers: Charlie Poole and Theodore Poole; sisters: Cleo Smith, Lucy Williams and Doris Addison and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received at the CITY CHAPEL CHURCH, 264 E. Main in Uniontown on Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the hour of service. Pastor Leonard Kirby will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, Pa.

Interment will be Saturday January 28 at the Mill Hill Baptist Cemetery in Roxboro, N.C.
