Local residents prepare for March for Life
Local residents will travel to Washington, D.C., once again to protest the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion at the 39th annual March for Life on Monday. Those who cannot make the trip will have an opportunity to support them through a local day of prayer.
The actual anniversary of the 1973 decision is Sunday but the March for Life will be observed Monday so participants can lobby lawmakers after the noontime rally on the National Mall and march to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, St. Anthony’s Friary, located at 115 Oakland Ave., Uniontown, will host a Pro-Life Prayer Day, beginning with Mass at 8:45 a.m. Monday. The Blessed Sacrament will remain exposed until the closing Benediction at 4 p.m. A candle will be lit and devotions held every hour on the hour.
