Edna Ruth Willis Chory, 83, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living of Upper St. Clair, Pa., died in her residence at 12:49 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012.

She was born June 4, 1928 in Keisterville, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Harold Richard Willis and Estella Mae (Hutchison) Willis.

Mrs. Chory was a Methodist.

She resided most of her working life in Massachusetts. Edna was employed as a Customer Representative for Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass.

Upon her retirement, Edna and her late beloved husband, George Chory Jr., moved to Ocala, Florida.

For the past six years, Mrs. Chory resided at Sunrise Assisted Living.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews including her caretaker, Gerry Willis Benson of McMurray, Pa., Beverly Willis of Fredericksburg, Va., Richard Willis of Fort Myers, Florida and Bonnie Jankowski of Fort Myers; brothers-in-law, Michael Chory of Dilliner, Pa., and Joseph Chory of Derwood, Maryland; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Lizambri of Somerset, Pennsylvania and M a r y Tripodi of Union, New Jersey.

In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Wendell S. Willis, Gerald Willis, Frank Willis.

Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 5 p.m., the hour of service, on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, PA 15320. The Rev. Bruce R. Judy will officiate.
