“Mission Field” show to debut on FCTV
I was fortunate to be part of the team that conducted interviews for “Mission Field: Fayette County,” a brand new, original mini-series debuting in June on Fayette County Community Television.
In each episode of “Mission Field,” you’ll be introduced to everyday people who have helped to launch some extraordinary projects through local religious institutions and community organizations. I hope you’ll be as touched and inspired by their stories as I was!
Look for a full list of “Mission Field” honorees soon in HeraldStandard.com, and if you support the project, please say “thank you” to our benefactors.
The “Mission Field” series wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors at the Stephen E. Kezmarsky Funeral Home, and we also benefited from the generosity of the folks at the historic State Theatre Center for the Arts, which served as a beautiful backdrop for the interviews.
Two of the many groups represented among our interviewees were the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great and City Church of Connellsville. Both the Sisters and City Church are groups that have already been using community television as part of their ministry efforts.
The programming provided by the Sisters of Saint Basil includes a history of the serene Mount St. Macrina property in Uniontown, lectures from the Sisters, a feature on the Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help and the acclaimed locally-produced documentary “We Are All Immigrants,” which profiles individuals who traveled to this area from 10 different countries.
Meanwhile, City Church of Connellsville, a non-denominational Christian community on North Pittsburgh Street in Connellsville, shares its vibrant worship experience with our viewers and provides an uplifting message every Sunday morning at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.
If you’re involved with a church, synagogue or other worship site that would like to explore the possibility of TV outreach, let’s talk!
