Omission

Some comments from Lynda Waggoner, director of Fallingwater and vice president of Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, on a letter by architect Frank Lloyd Wright to contractor Walter Hall that is now being auctioned by RR Auction of Amherst, N.H., were omitted from a story published Monday.

Waggoner said, “I imagine the letter probably came from the Hall estate. It is consistent with what we know of the relationship that Walter Hall had with Wright. Wright was not an easy man to work with. He had a great vision. He was trying to stretch design and technology. They were not easy plans to understand. Nothing like Fallingwater had ever been built before.”
