Uniontown man’s novel launched at Seton Hill literary event
GREENSBURG — A Uniontown man will launch a new novel at a literary event scheduled at Seton Hill University.
More than a dozen authors associated with the master of fine arts in writing popular fiction program at Seton Hill will participate in a joint book reading and signing event from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center.
The event will launch program alumnus Jason Jack Miller’s new novel, “Hellbender,” which is published by Raw Dog Screaming Press. The novel is part of Miller’s “Murder Ballads and Whiskey” series, which is a blend of dark fiction, urban fantasy and horror.
According to Miller, of Uniontown, “‘Hellbender’ takes you to a place where love is forever even when death isn’t, where magic doesn’t have to be seen to be believed, where a song might be the only thing that saves your soul. Strange things are happening at the edge of reality, deep in the forests and mountains of West Virginia.”
Other authors scheduled to participate are: Michael Arnzen, Shelley Bates, Sally Bosco, Lawrence Connolly, Gary Frank, Geoffrey Fuller, Sheldon Higdon, William Horner, Scott Johnson, Michael Knost, Patrice Lyle, Kate Martin, Heidi Ruby Miller, Meg Mims, Rachael Pruitt, Maria Snyder, Victoria Thompson and Jessica Warman. In addition, six publishers will be represented.
They are: Leap Books, Dark Quest Books, Fantasist Enterprises, Headline Books, Raw Dog Screaming Press and Grit City Publications,
The book-signing event is sponsored by the Writing Popular Fiction Alumni Group as part of the 11th annual Writing Popular Fiction Workshop, “In Your Write Mind.” For more detailed information, visit online at https://alumni.setonhill.edu/wpf2012 or call Toni Borrelli at 724-830-1005.
