Clergy appointments announced

Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg recently announced clergy appointments that include several Fayette County natives and churches. They become effective March 8.

These Fayette County churches are receiving new pastors:

The Rev. James D. Tringhese will become pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Uniontown. A native of Uniontown, Tringhese was ordained in 1974 and is coming to Uniontown after serving as pastor of St. Regis Parish in Trafford.

The Rev. Anthony W. Ditto becomes pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Perryopolis and administrator of St. Hedwig Parish in Smock. A native of Connellsville, Ditto was ordained n 1990 and comes to Perryopolis after serving as pastor of St. Raymond of the Mountains Parish and administrator in Donegal and administrator of St. Boniface Parish in Latrobe.

Ditto replaces the Rev. Robert T. Lubic, who becomes pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Connellsville and administrator of St. John the Evangelist Parish and St. Rita Parish, both in Connellsville, while continuing as chaplain and instructor of religion at Geibel Catholic Junior-Senior High School in Connellsville. A native of Connellsville, Lubic was ordained in 1996.
