A California firefighter works to remove a ladder after fire broke through the roof of a house at 184 California Road, California, Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

CALIFORNIA – No one was hurt by a fire that consumed a home on Monday on California Road.

Borough fire Chief Tom Hartley Jr. said for about three hours, more than 70 firefighters from seven departments battled a blaze that started around 3:25 p.m. across from California University of Pennsylvania’s Adamson Stadium.

Hartley said the home, owned by Dale and Mary Ann McCain, was destroyed by the fire. He said the cause of the fire is under investigation by the state police fire marshal’s office.
